Thank you, Fredericksburg, for making the 2021 Empty Bowl a success and a wonderful example of community spirit!!! This fundraiser is a booster shot of hope for survivors of domestic violence who have needed support more than ever this year and for Empowerhouse which has increased its services in response to that need.
What a team effort!!! From the talented potters who made our beautiful bowls, generous restaurants and others who donated the goodies in the bags, to the dedicated volunteers who packed and shared the bags, and, of course, YOU! We couldn’t do it without you: our sponsors and ticket buyers.
Domestic violence touches every neighborhood and it takes strength to be a survivor. The power of our community as it pulls together to help our neighbors in crisis is heartwarming and inspiring. The restrictions and precautions of the pandemic created a tough year to hold an event conveying the essence of Empty Bowl, but our community stepped up for the hard work, the call to help, and gave the financial support needed. On behalf of the survivors we serve, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
To learn more about how your contribution has made a positive impact in our community, please sign up for our newsletter at empowerhouseva.org, or follow us on FaceBook, Instagram and Twitter @empowerhouseva. Thank you to our sponsors, to Libertytown Arts Workshop, the Fredericksburg Nationals, and the family of Doris Buffett!

And a shout out to the potters of our community who donate the beautiful handmade bowls and to the restaurants, breweries and coffee shops that donated great gift certificates. Please continue to support them throughout the year.

And finally, please take a look at a few photos from the 2021 Empowerhouse Empty Bowl. Our photos document a different style for our event from previous years but we still had fun! We hope everyone enjoyed their Empty Bowl bags.
